On September 7, our wonderful Hindu Temple of Atlanta family celebrated the Ganesh Visarjan. It was a whole day event. Unfortunately I had to miss the amazing cultural programs that included singing and dancing. I was at work and I had the opening shift of 8-4:30 but I managed to finish work, come home, and get ready to go to the temple. I was able to reach the temple around 6:30 and was happy to realize that the Ganesh Procession had not started yet. In fact, they were just starting the Laddu Auction. I enjoyed watching the laddu auction because it’s always a great time to see who wins the laddu and who is the person who donated the most money. I remember one year when my second parents won the Laddu Auction. I had a blast dancing with my friends and getting color put all over my clothes, body and face by my friends and my friends’ Children. But the best and my favorite highlight of this wonderful event is the Helicopter Flower Shower. The flowers that were showered were first white flowers, a mix of different colored flowers, a mix of deep red flowers, and a mix of deep red flowers mixed with a couple yellow flowers.
