This week’s word is spiritual and here are five haikus I wrote.
visiting my temple and
praying to Lord Vishnu.
The smell of incense
Lord Shiva gets a milk abhishekam
singing Lakshmi Devi Bhajans
at Varalakshmi Vratam.
The smell of incense,
Petals falling at your feet,
I am not alone.
Today’s autumn dawn
from Durga Mata’s own temple
the melodious mantrams.
“You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher but your own soul.”
~ Swami Vivekananda
“My music has a very spiritual background, a sanctity that is almost like worship.”
“Spiritual relationship is far more precious than physical. Physical relationship divorced from spiritual is body without soul.”
~ Mahatma Gandhi
“Every man lives in two realms: the internal and the external. The internal is that realm of spiritual ends expressed in art, literature, morals, and religion. The external is that complex of devices, techniques, mechanisms, and instrumentalities by means of which we live.”
~ Dr Martin Luther King Jr
“Happiness is spiritual, born of truth and love. It is unselfish; therefore it cannot exist alone, but requires all mankind to share it.”
~ Mary Baker Eddy
“I see everything through a spiritual lens.”
~ Katy Perry
“My family, frankly, they weren’t folks who went to church every week. My mother was one of the most spiritual people I knew but she didn’t raise me in the church, so I came to my Christian faith later in life and it was because the precepts of Jesus Christ spoke to me in terms of the kind of life that I would want to lead.”
