I just collected another nickname at work. I went from being the Fitting Room Queen, the Covering Queen, the Donations Queen, and now the Employee of the Month! Finally all my hard work paid off! It’s now been two years since I started working as a Sales Associate at Tommy Hilfiger! I always wondered when it would be my turn to finally get some kind of recognition for my hard work! One of the main reasons that it was possible for me to get honored as the Employee of the Month last month was because of the Save The Children donations. We’re doing Save The Children donations from the beginning of May to June 19, and over the Memorial Day weekend I personally collected $100 in donations. On May 20, I collected about $21 and on May 21 I collected about $16. On May 25, I collected $80 and on May 26, I collected about $61. My boss and co-workers were shocked that I could collect donations that easily. The reason that my donations kept growing was because I always asked every customer that I checked out. I was personally shocked when I would get a couple of the five dollar donations each hour into my 8-4:30 opening shift. One of the days i even got a ten dollar donation. We had a meeting on June 2 and little did I know that everything would change that day. My boss finished the meeting and then he talked to one of our supervisors and she was like we have the EOM to talk about. He was like should we tell them. Then he started talking about the fact that one of our associates puts in 100% every shift and sometimes she even goes above and beyond like she covers shifts for coworkers or just always says yes if I text her if she is free to come in and work on her day off. Then he said that as you all know we’re doing Save The Children donations here and in one weekend one of our associates was able to beat the week’s donations goal and then he said Congratulations to Siri for being the Employee of the Month of May for Store 214. I think I personally was in shock for a second and almost cried when I realized that my boss said my name. The gift that I’m holding in the picture is my $50 Tommy Bucks. Tommy Bucks is when you’re allowed to buy as many items as you can for 50% off the original price and the total amount you have in the Tommy Bucks is fifty dollars. I bought a new dress, a Bermuda short and a wonderful silk summery shirt. The goal for every week was $60 and in one weekend I made $121. Thank You to everyone that believed in me. Thanks to Rocio Falco and Celeste Maputi-Babb for always being there for me and giving me love and support.
